Ever had a player come to you and say, “I’d like to be able to self-destruct, actually”? Because I have. 

This feature provides suggested mechanics for self-destruction. It also includes a potential recovery and reconstruction process, which is intentionally made very difficult in order to deter folks from exploding in every encounter.

Warning: proceed within caution, as this feature can be interpreted so that the character is functionally immortal IF they are able to regularly complete the reconstruction process. The campaign it was first written for does not have many inanimate mechanic constructs or mechanically skilled creatures available so these both have serious weight as considerations. If this is a concern, I would recommend adapting the difficulty of the reconstruction process to your campaign.
